Spirituality Group for Health & Wellness

Living Mindfully: Inspiration for Healthy Living
On Hiatus, contact me for waiting list and announcements of future events.

This is a spiritual growth group for creating and maintaining health & wellness. Drawing on Jan's background in modern and ancient spiritual philosophies and practices. The group time will include mindfulness meditation, guided imagery, a focused topic and discussion time in a supportive small group setting. The group is non-denominational and non-religious.

Many recent studies have proven the benefits of meditation, guided imagery, group work, and spiritual values in maintaining and restoring health. Not everyone belongs to a formal church; and some church followers are seeking more intimate opportunities to connect to God/Source in a personal way. I hope this will fill that void for people seeking a spiritual connection in their lives.

This is an open group; newcomers may join anytime.

Fee: $7
Bring a journal or notebook.

Arrive early as the doors will be locked at 6:05. Session ends at 7:15 pm, Jan will stay until 7:30 for questions or chatting.

Please use the rear entrance and parking lot of Good Vibrations for this meeting.

Beginning Meditation Class

Class Curently on Hiatus. Contact me to be put on an email announcements list!

While all meditation levels are welcome the focus will be on the inexperienced student.

Simple, gently guided meditation practice, focus on breath and awareness. This type of meditation does not seek to eliminate thoughts, but rather creates space for thought to be heard, to slow down the chaotic speed of thinking, and to be conscious and aware of our thinking.

Focusing on the breath as a tool keeps one in the present moment where all things are manageable. Breath focus also has the benefit of naturally slowing the nervous system, inducing calm (without trying to be calm) and restoring body systems to neutral.

With practice this results in greater mental clarity & ability to focus, less overall stress response in the body-mind, less stress damage, improved immune system functioning, & reduced pain levels.

Meditation trains the brain to be in positive emotion states, and out of the negative emotion brain states.

*Class is dark on the last Tuesday of the month (no class).
